ES DIFERENTE PORQUE:
- Se desarrolló específicamente para estudiantes
hispanos que necesitan ayuda en la lectura. Por lo tanto ofrece
pasajes con vocabulario y contenido al nivel de estos estudiantes.
Muchos otros manuales no ayudan al lector principiante y lo
frustan porque presentan lecturas de un nivel muy avanzado prematuramente.
- Se desarrolló específicamente para estudiantes
de habla hispana. No es una traducción de pasajes escritos
originalmente en inglés, los cuales producen dificultades
de comprensión para el lector de habla hispana que apenas
se está familiarizando con el inglés.
- Está divido por los objetivos del TAKS que se presentan
en el orden de importancia requerido por el examen. Con esto

who need help reading 3rd-grade level materials. Therefore,
it incorporates appropiate topics and vocabulary selected from
the concrete world of young students, and in consultation with
teachers, students, and frequently-used word lists. Many other
manuals are not helpful because they offer passages that are
too difficult for beginning readers.
- Addresses TAKS objectives in the order of importance they
are accorded on the test. In this way teachers, tutors, and
parents know on which concepts to focus for this particular
grade level.
- Provides brief explanations on how to address each TAKS objective,
