¡Prepare al estudiante para el TAKS o exam estatal! Estos nuevos manuales proveen pasajes de práctica y preguntas en español siguiendo el formato del examen TAKS.

SON ESPECIALES PORQUE:

• Se desarrollaron específicamente para estudiantes hispanos que necesitan ayuda en la lectura. Ofrecen pasajes con vocabulario y contenido al nivel de estos estudiantes. La mayoría de otros manuales frustan al lector porque introducen lecturas de un nivel muy avanzado prematuramente.
• Se desarrollarron específicamente para estudiantes de habla hispana. No son traducciones de pasajes escritos originalmente en inglés que producen dificultades de comprensión para el lector de habla hispana que apenas está familiarizado con el inglés.
• Los capitulos stán dividos por los objetivos del TAKS y se presentan en el orden de importancia requerido por el examen. Con esto se le ayuda al maestro, padre o tutor saber cuáles son las partes principales en las que debe enfocarse.
• Ofrecen explicaciones simples para maestros, tutores y padres que necesitan familiarizarse con los objetivos del TAKS.
• Todo esto se presenta en español y al alcance de su mano.

THEY ARE DIFFERENT BECAUSE THEY:

• Contain passages in Spanish specifically developed for students who need help reading grade level materials. The manuals incorporate appropiate topics and vocabulary selected from the concrete world of young students and in consultation with teachers, students, and frequently-used word lists. Many other manuals are not helpful because they offer passages that are too difficult for beginning readers.
• Address TAKS objectives in the order of importance they are accorded on the test. In this way teachers, tutors, and parents know on which concepts to focus for this particular grade level.
• Provide brief explanations on how to address each TAKS objective, which is helpful to teachers, tutors and parents who need more knowlege about the TAKS objectives.
• Bridge academic language to student's everyday language.
